McInerney exploded in her first game of the season at Birmingham Groves for The Hotel/Okemos Co-Op. McInerney tallied six times, drew three exclusions, had five takeaways and a field block for Madi Zink's squad. Hotel/Okemos moved up to 7 in the MWPA weekly poll.
District 2, Boys | Max Jung - #10 East Grand Rapids
Max Jung led East Grand Rapids to a 9-2 win over West Ottawa with a strong defensive performance. Jung had two goals, an assist, a steal and a field block for Raheem Brown's Pioneers.
District 3, Girls | Emily Jacoby - #9 Birmingham Seaholm Maples
If were to google "Brick Wall" this photo of Emily Jacoby might be the top result. Her stingy .875 save percentage led the Maples to a pair of wins by a 29-3 goal differential. Jacoby was busy in both games making 21 stops and allowing just three goals for Kellie Howe's Maples. She also had four steals and two blocked five meters as the Maples surged into the top ten this week.
District 3, Boys | Rocco Prindle - Birmingham Groves Falcons
For the Falcons, Prindle was an offensive force this week with eight goals against strong competition. Despite a loss to #2 Dexter, Prindle led the way and had a pair of steals as well for the always dangerous Bob Sala and his Falcon squad.
District 4, Girls | Maddie Baybeck - Ann Arbor Pioneer Pioneers
Things that are hard: Being a sophomore playing varsity polo. Things that are harder: being a sophomore playing varsity polo as a goaltender. Baybeck shined for Will Hart's Pioneers who played a top-ten game with Ann Arbor Skyline this past week as well.
District 4, Boys| Liam Herbert - #4 Ann Arbor Pioneer Pioneers
The Pioneers had themselves a week, going 4-0 against four top-ten opponents and Liam Herbert had a huge hand in it. Herbert had eight goals, six assists, four steals, four drawn exclusions and a pair of field blocks for Don Packard's Pios.
